The Winter/Spring 2019 Training Plans

The LRC’s “A Milwaukee We Will Runny!” 16-WEEK MARATHON TRAINING PLAN & 14-WEEK HALF MARATHON TRAINING PLAN are here! These are FREE, just like LRC. Running them with us all winter will bring you as much happiness as a warm cup of hot cocoa by a fire.

The training plan target races will be:

The LRC aligns our winter schedule to compliment these plans:

  • Wednesday 6:30pm speed workouts
  • Tuesday 5:15am Breakfast Club recovery runs
  • Saturday 7:00am long runs

Nothing is better at making you a stronger runner than running with other people! Gatorade and water will be supplied at Saturday runs. We will be posting details about each of these runs to our Facebook group page so join HERE if you haven’t already.

These plans are culled from MY EXPERIENCE (seriously, that link is a blog about my 50-state marathon experience) utilizing many different training plans over the course of training for and completing 65+ marathons on all terrains in conjunction with helping you enjoy the experience through 5+ years of creating and operating more attentive and community-driven run clubs. With all that experience, you know what I’ve learned? If it ain’t fun, YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!

Feel free to email me with questions about these plans. They are guidelines for marathon and half marathon runners and are adaptable to a different race date.

Twice As Nice Mother & Child Diaper Drive

by Kristin Stromberg, ATC

To continue with giving back to the community we are working with Twice as Nice Mother & Child. They are a nonprofit organization that helps mothers and children have their basic needs met. They provide items such as: maternity wear, diapers, wipes, formula, children’s clothes ranging from all sizes and more.

Twice as Nice Mother & Child  is a certified diaper bank and a member of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN)

Unfortunately diapers are not covered by food stamps and they are a high priority for any parent and child. Toddlers need 7-8 diapers a day while an infant can use between 10-12. That is why we are having a diaper drive for the whole month of May!! Diaper sizes can range from newborn to 5-6, but the main demand right now is size 5-6.

We are also giving back to the organization by donating 15% of every New Patient Exam to Twice As Nice Mother & Child to help them with other expenses. They operate only with volunteers and rely on donations.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can help give us a call at 847-362-4476 or also by going to their website at www.twiceasnicemc.org
