A Message to Our Patients

At North Shore Pro-Active Health, we recognize the important role our facility plays in providing essential products and services to our patients and community. The health and well-being of our patients and our staff is always our priority, and as we navigate the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation together, I want to share with you the extra precautions we’re taking at North Shore Pro-Active Health.  If you are interested in what digital options we have available to maintain your appointments, scroll to the bottom of the page.

Keeping NSPAH Clean

We’ve always been proud of the cleanliness of our office, and we know that keeping it clean and sanitized is even more important now.

We continue to use Citus II, a
broad spectrum germicidal cleaner on all of our tables, rehabilitation equipment, crocs as well as door handles to clean, deodorize and disinfect. We want you to feel comfortable to maintain your appointment schedule and keep you feeling pain free and healthy.

Supporting our Team Members

We continue to share information with our team on the best ways to keep themselves and their families safe and healthy. To help prevent the spread of the virus, we’re encouraging anyone who feels sick to stay home.

For Our Patients

Currently the fatality rate of the Coronavirus is nearly 2% (approximately 2500) and while this number may seem scary at first glace, compare this to the current fatality rate of the flu.  The estimated seasonal flu related deaths range from 250,000 to 650,000.  It is important to know that although the Coronavirus may be deadly in some, the vast majority of cases contracted will be relatively mild and those most at risk have underlying health conditions or may be immune-compromised.

The main symptoms associated with the Coronavirus are:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

There may be additional symptoms that people experience, and the virus can lay latent for up to 14 days, so people can be infected and show no signs of the virus.

Protect Yourself

It is important to not only be cautious of exposure to the virus, but to boost your system to protect against ANY viral exposure. These basic recommendations, including those from the CDC will help ensure you can continue to live your normal daily life, and stay healthy!

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water – scrubbing all surfaces of your hands for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to clean your hands if soap and water aren’t available. A little goes a long way
  • Regularly clean and disinfect any frequently touched objects or surfaces with cleaning sprays or wipes.
  • Stay home if you’re sick or feeling under the weather.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Protect Yourself Part 2

  1. Manage your stress - Get 20-30 minutes of daily exercise.  Keep a gratitude journal.  Practice abdominal breathing.
  2. Increase Your Vitamins - D3/K2, Zinc, Vitamin C, Probiotics and Elderberry should be taken prophylactically to help boost your immune system.
  3. Improve Diet & Reduce Sugar - Eating clean by decreasing sugar, alcohol, gluten and dairy may be one of the easiest things to increase immunity.
  4. Get a Chiropractic Adjustment - Your nervous system modulates the immune system.  Children under chiropractic care have a decreased use of medications - including antibiotics.  Goes for adults too!

Telehealth Options:

  • All functional medicine visits, new patients or reoccurring appointments can be done virtually.  All necessary forms will be emailed to be completed online, as well as care plans and follow up information can be mailed and emailed.
  • Rehab visits are all available virtually.  Regardless of how far along in your plan you are, we can complete your rehabilitation one on one (digitally) and update your exercises via your online portal.  If you are a maintenance patient looking to stay on track, lets set up a digital rehab appointment to help you stay active and feeling great during this time.

In House Options:

  • Hand Sanitizer is available when you first arrive in the office.  We ask that you remove your shoes and wash your hands.  You can use the hand sanitizer prior to leaving the office.
  • All your vitamins and supplements can be ordered over the phone or via our Salutogenic Life Website.  These orders can be shipped or brought out to your car.
  • Since adjustments can only be done in person, we are scheduling appointments so only essential staff and one patient are in the office at one time.  We ask that you arrive no earlier than your scheduled time to allow for the previous appointment to finish and exit the office.
  • Follow up appointments and payments can be made over the phone, or via our pay online link to avoid any transfer of paper bills, checks or credit cards.
  • Office surfaces will all be wiped and cleaned between every single patient visit.

We hope that this information is helpful and helps us all take a minute to step back and relax.  There is no need to panic and the most important thing is to keep your body functioning at it's highest levels to ward off any viral exposure, not just the Coronavirus.
